Why is Applied Linguistics a multidisciplinary science?
Applied linguistics help solving real language world issues and that is possible using different science such as:
- Linguistics: which describe what people say or write using a correct grammar, sintax and semantic.
- Sociolinguistics: It answers the questions: Who speaks? about what?, to whom? When?, Where? and whith which purpose?.
- Sociology and Social Anthropology: because learning a language depend on which society the learners are involved and how currently living human beings behave in social groups.
- Phycholinguistics: it refers to how people learn, understand and produce languages.
- Pragmatics: it is the use of language in a real communication. It is the way we speak.
- As well as education, pedagogy and psychology.
All these science help solving problems on teaching or learning any language giving the conceptual skills to understand and get the knowledge easily. This is the function of Applied Linguistics.
